Assessment
Provincial legislation requires that the assessed value of all properties within Saskatchewan be updated every four years. This is because property values change over time due to changing market conditions. The next legislated reassessment is in 2025.
Assessment Notices will show that your property has been reassessed, or updated, to reflect a new assessed value
- It means that the assessed value of your property might change.
- The property reassessment process ensures that all property owners pay their share of municipal and provincial education property tax; owners of properties with similar values pay similar property tax. Education tax collected by the Municipality is remitted to the Province.
- Your property's new reassessed value will be used as the starting point to calculate your property tax for the years 2021 - 2024, and will remain in place until the next provincially legislated reassessment in 2025.

The Municipality will update its mill rate to reflect the updated property values, this mill rate will be used in the calculation to determine property taxes.
