The Lloydminster Planning District Commission (LPDC) is a cooperation between the Rural Municipality of Wilton No. 472, the Rural Municipality of Britannia No. 502, and the City of Lloydminster. The District was established in 1968 and today it is used as an opportunity for the three municipalities to address mutual concerns and allow each municipality to grow and develop in cooperation. The district is an area that includes portions of the RM of Wilton and Britannia that surround the City of Lloydminster.
All proposed developments and/or subdivisions that are located within the Lloydminster Planning District area, as shown below, are taken to the Lloydmisnter Planning District Commission for comment and review. In 2011 the Rural Municipalities of Wilton and Britannia and the City of Lloydminster, with the held of Crosby Hanna and Associates, began creating a new Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaws within the Lloydmisnter Planning District. In 2014 these documents were submitted to the Ministry of Government Relations for review and approval.
