Compensation Claims Submitted to the RM of Wilton

Compensation Claims Submitted to the RM of Wilton:

The Rural Municipality (RM) of Wilton has been engaged in an ongoing dispute with the Organized Hamlet Board (OHB) of Lone Rock since 2018, initially stemming from a civil liability claim. The primary issues in contention involve demands for compensation directed at both the OHB and local residents. Despite lacking the legal authority to enforce these claims, the OHB continues to misrepresent its powers and make misleading statements to the public, falsely asserting that compensation will be provided to the Hamlet of Lone Rock.

1. Invalid Civil Liability Claim (June 6, 2019): $700,000 per household for alleged property devaluation, negligence, and mental distress.

2. Water Service Disruption Compensation: $72 per day for service interruptions exceeding 48 hours.

3. Water Supply Reimbursement: Refunds for costs incurred by residents who chose to secure their own water source.

4. Reimbursement for OHB-Related Expenses: $30 per hour for Hamlet Board members’ travel, research, and meeting attendance, including costs to sue RM.

5. Legal Fees Coverage: Full payment of past and future legal expenses.

6. Compensation for OHB Spokesperson (T. Kashuba): Payment of $30–$60 per hour for legislative research and representation.

7. Property Devaluation Compensation: A claim seeking compensation for property value loss.

The RM of Wilton does not support or recognize any of these claims.
